Wuhan University Successfully Held the 2025 "Digital Intelligence Top Talent Program" Winter Camp

From January 19 to 20, 2025, Wuhan University successfully organized the 2025 "Digital Intelligence Top Talent Program" Winter Camp. Co-hosted by the School of Computer Science, School of Artificial Intelligence, and School of Cybersecurity, the event attracted 666 high school students nationwide. Following rigorous expert screening, 153 outstanding participants were selected.

In the Academic Exploration Session, Bian Jinluan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Computer Science, delivered opening remarks. She welcomed participants, outlined the significance of the event, introduced the university's distinctive experimental class training models and advantages in cultivating top-tier innovators, and encouraged students to showcase their talents.

Prof. Xia Guisong (Vice Dean in Charge, School of Artificial Intelligence) provided a comprehensive overview of AI's development history, recent disciplinary advancements, and the School of AI's institutional framework. He elaborated on the unique features and admissions criteria of AI Innovation Class and Experimental Classes, deepening students' understanding of the School. Prof. Zhao Lei (Vice Dean, School of Cybersecurity) and Prof. Wu Yu (School of Computer Science) also presented their respective departments' academic programs and specialized classes.

In the Academic Exchange Segment, Prof. Ye Mang delivered an inspiring lecture titled "Artificial Intelligence Meets the Nobel Prize," exploring connections between Nobel laureates' achievements and AI research. The talk highlighted AI's vast applications, transformative potential, and pivotal role in nurturing top-tier talent.

All participants took a multidisciplinary information competency test. After three hours of rigorous evaluation, 64 awardees (1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes) were selected.

This winter camp aimed to implement the guiding principles of the National Education Conference, advance "bridging secondary and higher education" initiatives, and demonstrate Wuhan University's disciplinary strengths and innovative talent cultivation model. By offering insights into the university, the event sought to inspire students' commitment to advancing China's information-driven national rejuvenation.
